Urgent Call For Action!

Dear Members:

As many of you know High Plains Federal Credit Union offers our Debit Card service at no cost to you our members.  One of the ways we are able to do so it the fact we earn some income from the fees merchants pay for the convenience of having instant credit for the money you pay for merchandise or services from them. 

The reason I am writing you is there is a bill before Congress that would shift the cost of this convenience for the merchant to you our member.  Congress is considering capping or limiting the amount of “interchange” fees that can be charged for these transactions.  If this legislation passes it will have an impact on our ability to provide the service at no cost and most likely we and all other financial institutions will have to decide if we intend to continue this service and if so at what cost to you our member.  

WE need your assistance...Please click on the web-link and make your voice heard...ask our congressman and senators to vote against any bill that will threaten your Debit Card service and cause you to pay for your now no cost service.
